The Walker: one of the last intact watersheds in the Robson Valley, yet untouched by industrial activity. How can someone fight to defend such a wild place that they have never visited and understand little about?
The secluded nature of the Walker means that very few people get to experience its rugged beauty. Not only have new plant species been discovered in this area, but it also provides a sanctuary for Chinook salmon, bull trout, grizzly bear, mountain caribou, and other vulnerable species integral to the surrounding ecosystem.
The Walker represents a rare opportunity to protect an intact watershed before it becomes threatened by industrial activity. If we wait to take action until we can see the destruction for ourselves, we will have waited too long.
Conservation North appreciates your support as we continue our fight to protect primary forests like the Walker. Stay tuned for updates on how you can help.
